Man wounded in afternoon shooting in Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, Pa. – Police responded at about 2:30 p.m. Monday to the 600 block of Dauphin Street for a report of shots fired. Officers arriving on the scene determined that there was a shooting victim.  The unidentified victim, a 28 year old black male had been taken to Harrisburg Hospital in a private vehicle.  He was treated for a single gunshot wound to the abdomen and is expected to survive.

Heavy armed officers did focus on a particular residence but there were no arrests.  So far there is no description of the shooter but it is believed that he may have fled on foot.

Dauphin County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2000 for information leading to an arrest in this incident.
