LANCASTER, PA.  - Students at Lampeter-Strasburg High School in Lancaster celebrated Agriculture Career Week today.  The event is meant to teach students the importance of agriculture and farming in the state, along with the variety of different jobs it offers in the realm of science and technology.  Local business owners, educators and representatives from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture attended today's event.

"There's a lot of careers," said Scott Sheely with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. "There's a lot of variety.  This is STEM, in terms of science and technology, engineering and math.  That's an important part of everything that we do. Getting the word out is really the important part of this week."

The Lancaster County AG Council presented a check for $500 to the Lampeter-Strasburg AG Department during the event.
