RISING SUN, Md – Maryland State Police arrest a Cecil County man on child pornography related charges.
Matthew Mowbray, 19, of the unit block of Ayers Drive, Rising Sun was arrested without incident and charged with six counts of possession of child pornography and six counts of soliciting sex from a minor.
Earlier this year, investigators with the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force developed information about the potential distribution of child pornography over the Internet. As a result of the subsequent investigation, Mowbray was identified as the suspect and a search warrant was served at his home shortly after 5:30 a.m. Thursday morning, by Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit investigators, state troopers from the North East Barrack and agents from Homeland Security Investigations.
The search warrant resulted in the recovery of various digital media storage devices. Evidence will be submitted to the Maryland State Police Digital Forensics Lab for analysis.
