CLEVELAND — He’s ready if the Indians want him!

Actor Charlie Sheen, who starred in “Major League,” responded to the calls made on social media for him to throw out the first pitch of the World Series on Tuesday.

He posted a picture of himself as “Wild Thing,” and said:

“Major League continues to be the gift that keeps on giving!

if called upon, I’d be honored.”

Shortly after the Cleveland Indians triumphed in the ALCS Wednesday night, fans began pulling for Sheen to throw out the first pitch.

Sheen played “Wild Thing” in the iconic 1989 movie about a fictional, hard-luck Indians team with a motley roster of extreme personalities and skill sets.

The movie follows character Rachel Phelps who inherited the Cleveland Indians from her dead husband and is offered a deal to move the team to Miami.

In order to get out of her contract and move the team, she plots to cause attendance at games to decline. She hires the worst players, including rookie pitcher Ricky Vaughn, whose nickname was “Wild Thing.”

But because of her plan, those players try even harder and end up going to the World Series.

As of Thursday evening, the real Cleveland Indians haven’t responded to Sheen’s offer.
