Lancaster motorcyclist killed at airport connector leading onto Route 283

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. – A Lancaster man is killed after he is thrown from his motorcycle and run over on the airport connector leading to Route 283 in Dauphin County.  It happened at about 1:34 p.m. Wednesday afternoon in Lower Swatara Township.

Pennsylvania State Police say the 61 year old victim was attempting to merge onto Route 283 east when for unknown reasons, he lost control on the curve. He was thrown from his motorcycle and slid into the east bound lanes of Route and was struck and killed by a car driven by a 23 year old Elizabethtown man.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The investigation into the accident continues. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact PSP Harrisburg at (717) 671-7500.
