LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa.– A Lancaster man plead guilty to charges stemming from three separate incidents in January 2016.
Daryl Walker, Jr., plead guilty to two counts of Robbery, one count of Criminal Conspiracy to Robbery, Fleeing and Alluding, Simple Assault and Theft by Unlawful Taking in exchange for a sentence of 3-12 years in state prison.
The first incident occurred in Susquehanna Township on January 13. An officer noticed a vehicle that had an expired registration sticker, and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. However, Walker (the driver of the vehicle) accelerated in an attempt to flee officers. Police were not able to pursue due to concerns for other drivers in the area, but were able to identify Walker, Jr. as the person driving the vehicle.
The second incident also occurred in Susquehanna Township on January 25. Officers responded to a report of a robbery. The victim told police that she had posted an ad on backpage.com and Walker had responded to her ad. They arranged to meet at an apartment, but the victim could not locate the apartment they had discussed meeting at. She then came into contact with Walker that walked up to her vehicle. He entered the victim’s car and revealed a gun while demanding her money.
The final incident occurred in East Cocalico Township on January 29. Officers responded to a report of a robbery at a local motel. The victim in this case also had posted an ad on backpage.com and was contacted by Walker. They eventually met at the hotel, and Walker pulled out a handgun and demand money from the victim. After taking her belongings, he ordered the victim into the bathroom. The victim began to scream, and Walker hit her with the gun. After assaulting her, he left the room.
Walker will now serve a minimum of 3 years in state prison.
