Police seek to ID couple in distraction theft at Jake’s Country Trading Post

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. – East Lampeter Township Police seek help from the public in identifying a pair of suspects in a ‘distraction’ theft a Jake’s Country Trading Post in the 2900 block of Lincoln Highway in Gordonville.

On Wednesday, November 2, at about 3:55 pm a black male and female couple, entered and then separated inside the store.  The female called out to the employee at the register to gain her attention. While the employee was distracted, the male reached behind the counter and removed an undisclosed amount of cash from a purse. The suspects left in an older model maroon Buick sedan with out of state registration.

Township released several surveillance photos of the pair and their vehicle. The male is described as tall, between 30-40 years of age with a bald head and scruffy goatee.    The female is described as a light skinned black woman, between 30-40 years of age, with long wavy black hair.
