Every year, the funded programs, provide emergency crisis assistance, after school and summer youth programs, cooking and nutrition classes, and other essential services to more than 16,000 people in central Pennsylvania.

Founded in 1982, New Hope Ministries has assistance centers in Dillsburg, Dover, Hanover and Mechanicsburg, Pa. which serve parts of York and Adams Counties and the West Shore area of Cumberland County. Two additional centers are scheduled to open by the first week of November in New Oxford and Lemoyne, Pa. Services are available to people regardless of their age, race, gender or religious affiliation.

“This grant from the Walmart Foundation is vital to our ongoing commitment to help our friends and neighbors in their time of need,” said Eric Saunders, Executive Director of New Hope Ministries. “Our efforts begin with love and hope as a way to empower families to achieve both stability and self-sufficiency.
