HARRISBURG, Pa.– Firefighters in Harrisburg battled three separate fires on Saturday night.

One of the fires broke out on the 1200-block of Swatara Street. The fire chief tells FOX43 it was a vacant home. He says the flames could have been caused by squatters who were inside the empty home trying to stay warm.

Another fire was reported on Park Street. It’s believed this one was the result of a phone transformer that extended into a garage.

The third fire broke out in vacant home on 1200-block of Chestnut Street, near 13th Street. Again, the chief says this fire could be the result of homeless people trying to keep warm.

There’s no word yet on whether the fires are related. The investigation is ongoing.
