YORK, Pa. -- You can't deck the halls without boughs of holly, and those boughs arrived in York on Tuesday.  The York community Christmas tree now stands in Continental Square.

The 4,000-pound Blue Spruce was brought in with heavy equipment.  It's 30 feet tall, and was planted back in 1981.  The man who donated the tree says it's his way of giving back -- and maybe clearing a little space.

"It was just getting too big for the location.  It was on my property," said Brent Hatterer, who donated the tree.  "I work for Lifepath Christian Ministries, which is formally the York Rescue Mission, and I believe in our work.  I wanted to donate something to the city that everybody could enjoy."

The tree will be decorated in time for the annual Light Up York ceremony, which is scheduled for Friday, December 2nd.
