Ephrata Police cruiser involved in crash

EPHRATA, Pa. — An Ephrata Police cruiser was involved in a crash Monday evening. It happened around 7:15 p.m. at the intersection of East Main Street and Ridge Avenue.

Aimee Andrew, 20, of Ephrata, was stopped on East Main Street, waiting for clearance to make a left turn onto Ridge Avenue when Sergeant Matthew Randolph of the Ephrata PD struck her vehicle from behind. Andrew was driving a 1999 tan Dodge Durango, and Randolph was driving a 2016 Ford Explorer. Occupants of Andrew’s vehicle, including a young child, were examined at the scene. Sergeant Randolph was treated at WellSpan – Ephrata for hand pain and released.unit_2-1

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

“We’re very grateful that no one was seriously injured, and that everyone was able to walk away,” said Chief William Harvey.
