Ephrata Police cruiser involved in crash
EPHRATA, Pa. — An Ephrata Police cruiser was involved in a crash Monday evening. It happened around 7:15 p.m. at the intersection of East Main Street and Ridge Avenue.
Aimee Andrew, 20, of Ephrata, was stopped on East Main Street, waiting for clearance to make a left turn onto Ridge Avenue when Sergeant Matthew Randolph of the Ephrata PD struck her vehicle from behind. Andrew was driving a 1999 tan Dodge Durango, and Randolph was driving a 2016 Ford Explorer. Occupants of Andrew’s vehicle, including a young child, were examined at the scene. Sergeant Randolph was treated at WellSpan – Ephrata for hand pain and released.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
“We’re very grateful that no one was seriously injured, and that everyone was able to walk away,” said Chief William Harvey.
