The bench coach for the Philadelphia Phillies is getting into the holiday spirit and thanking others for doing the same.

Larry Bowa served as the keynote speaker at Friday's "Thanks for Giving Luncheon" in Lancaster.  The event served as a fundraiser to boost educational program at the Janus School, which serves K-12 students with learning differences.

"We know we have a lot of baseball fans in Lancaster," Bowa said, "so to be able to give back to the community - whether it's in Lancaster, Philadelphia, Reading - it's special to us as ex-players and as a coach now with the Phillies."
this is the third year for the luncheon.

Bowa spent more than 40 years in Major League Baseball, as a player, manager, and caoch.  He played 12 seasons with the Phillies, and is the winner of two Gold Glove awards and the 2001 Manager of the Year Award.
