LANCASTER, Pa. - November 8, Lawrence Kaufhold Jr. died at the age of 90. He was a World War II veteran that had no living family. To be sure the US Navy veteran had a proper burial, six students from Lancaster Catholic stepped in to serve as Kaufhold's pall bearers. He was buried, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, at no charge due to Snyder Funeral Home obtaining his honorable discharge papers.
"He risked everything going overseas and fighting for us so I think it is the least we can do to help pay it back," said senior, Bryan Downey.
