LANCASTER, Pa.–A Lancaster man wanted on rape and assault charges was arrested Friday by members of the Pennsylvania State Police Fugitive Apprehension Task Force.

Jamel E. Prister, 26, was arrested after authorities received information that he was at an address along the 100 block of Frogtown Road in Martic Township. He was arraigned and taken to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $500,000 bail.

Prister is charged with simple assault, unlawful restraint, intimidation of a witness or victim, stalking, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, criminal trespass, rape, sexual assault and aggravated assault. The charges stem from an incident which occurred on November 30. Officers responded to a home along the Marjory Terrace in Lancaster for a reported domestic disturbance.  A woman told police that she was assaulted and threatened by Prister earlier this week. She said Prister had also taken her vehicle without her permission.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 14.
