SALISBURY TWP., Pa. - Disabled veterans, who may not be able to hunt otherwise, have the chance to in Lancaster County this week. The hunt is managed by USDA Wildlife Service employees and volunteers. It is a way to control the deer population in a fenced in area of the Lanchester Landfill in Salisbury Township, Lancaster County. Multiple veterans were successful on Monday and Tuesday.

"I love it.Matter of fact, I love it. I was excited when I got here and I am still excited now. You know I think it is a great thing to do for the veterans and I will be signing up for next year," Charles Brown, Vietnam veteran.

The hunt is free for disabled veterans. A doe tag is provided. Two more veterans will be hunting on Wednesday. They do expect to host the hunt again next year.
