Harrisburg Bureau of Police arrested, and charged, Jaquan Jones, 20, Dec. 7 when they responded to Harrisburg Hospital for a shooting victim.

Jones had a warrant for his arrest following another October shooting, which occurred on the 1400 block of Vernon St. Officers who responded to that call were advised of a shooting victim that was brought to Harrisburg Hospital in a private vehicle.

The victim had a gunshot wound to his back and was rushed to surgery, police said. The injury left the victim paralyzed in his right leg. He told police officers he had  met with Jones in the 1400 block of Vernon St., and that’s where they allegedly entered into an argument over money he owed someone else. When the victim attempted to return to his vehicle, and began to drive away, the victim claims that Jones fired several rounds at his car. One of the bullets entered the rear of the car, and went through the seat striking him in the back, police reported.

Responding to another call of a shooting victim on Dec. 7, police discovered that the victim, who claimed to be Delmar King was actually Jones, according to a police report. Jones told police the shooting occurred somewhere on Hummel St.

Jones was charged with Criminal Attempt Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Carrying a Firearm without License, and Recklessly Endangering.
