Update: The Hanover Borough Police Department wants to identify the operator of a dark blue or purple, hatchback type vehicle, possibly with black wheels and tinted windows.  This vehicle drove through the front of the parking lot of the bank shortly before the robbery occurred.  It is unknown if the vehicle of the driver are connected with the robbery.  People with information are asked to contact the Hanover Borough Police Department.

HANOVER, Pa. — The Hanover Borough Police Department is investigating an armed bank robbery that occurred Saturday. Shortly after 9:00 a.m. a man entered the ACNB Bank located at 1127 Eichelberger Street.

The suspect had a silver semi-automatic handgun and a bag. He demanded tellers place money into the bag. Police say he got an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen exiting the front doors of the bank and fleeing on foot toward Eisenhower Drive. No one was hurt during the robbery.

The suspect was described as being about 5’8” tall with a slender build. He was wearing a blue and gray sweatshirt-vest type jacket and possibly a red and white shirt beneath. The jacket had gray sleeves, drawstrings, and hood, which was pulled up, and a blue quilt diamond patterned vest. He also wore a dark colored face mask, red gloves, blue jeans, and dark colored shoes.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone that may have witnessed the incident or who may have information regarding the suspect’s identity and whereabouts are asked to contact the Hanover Borough Police Department at 717-637-5575 or through York County 911.
