Quick response from firefighters in York County keeps chimney fire from spreading

MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, York County, Pa.– Firefighters responded to a chimney fire in Manchester Township, York County on Sunday evening.

Officials say the fire broke out in the fireplace and chimney around 5:00 p.m. and spread to a wall inside a home on the 1900-block of Susquehanna Trail.

Everyone was able to get out safely and the home sustained only minor damage. Several fire trucks and engines responded to the call and officials say the quick response prevented the flames from spreading further.
