Fatal accident on I-81 SB leaves one dead

enolaimg_cctv_81-65_mpu001_ch0CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — One person is dead after a deadly crash on I-81 SB.

Jeffrey Woods, 20, of Palmyra, died after losing control of his vehicle and being ejected after it rolled multiple times.

The crash occurred around 8:14 p.m. between a Woods’ Honda sedan and a tractor-trailer near mile marker 63 between the route 11/15 exit and Wertzville Rd. exit in East Pennsboro Township.

Woods was traveling in the southbound lane when his vehicle swerved across three lanes and struck the rear of a tractor trailer, which caused Woods to lose control of the vehicle. As a result, the vehicle rolled multiple times, causing Woods and a passenger to be ejected.

Woods was pronounced dead at the scene, while a passenger was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating.
