STEELTON, Pa.– A man was arrested after he assaulted a police officer during a traffic stop.

Michael Frye, 39, is facing aggravated assault of a police officer and DUI charges after the incident.

On December 12 at approximately 10 p.m., a Steelton Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for driving without its headlights on. The officer approached the vehicle when the driver, Frye, began to yell “No.”

Then, Frye jumped out of the vehicle and began to punch the officer before fleeing on foot. The officer was able to bring Frye into custody after using his taser.

Frye was found to be under the influence of PCP, and after being medically cleared at a hospital, he was taken to Dauphin County Judicial Center.
