CARLISLE, Pa.- Following a recall by Delizza Inc., GIANT/ Martin’s is pulling select ‘Simply Enjoy’ frozen desserts from their shelves over concerns of potential Salmonella contamination.
The following products are included in this recall:
- Simply Enjoy Dark Chocolate Topped Mini Eclairs, 30 ct., UPC 688267124112 with a Lot Code of L1K3616, L1L3616 or L1M3616 with Best by date of 3/1/2018 and 3/2/2018
- Simply Enjoy Milk Chocolate Dipped Creme Puffs, 30 ct., UPC 688267124105 with a Lot Code of L1J4016 or L1K4016 with Best by date of 3/29/2018
GIANT/MARTIN’S as of today have not received reports of any illnesses. Consumption of food contaminated with Salmonella can cause salmonellosis, one of the most common bacterial foodborne illnesses. Salmonella infections can be life-threatening, especially to those with weak immune systems, such as infants, the elderly and persons with HIV infection or undergoing chemotherapy. The most common manifestations of salmonellosis are diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever within eight to 72 hours. Additional symptoms may be chills, headache, nausea and vomiting that can last up to seven days.
Customers who have purchased these products should discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt to GIANT/MARTIN’S for a full refund.
