The Charlotte City Council has voted to rescind its “Non-Discrimination Ordinance” that allowed transgender people to use the bathroom that corresponded to their gender identity.
In a statement, the city said it “urges the State to follow immediately with a repeal of House Bill 2.” North Carolina Governor-elect Roy Cooper said he spoke to legislative leaders and they are planning to call a special session “to repeal HB 2 in full.”
