York County Coroner identifies body found burning in West Manchester Township

WEST MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, YORK COUNTY, Pa.– The York County Coroner has now identified the man whose body was found burning along a York County road Thursday morning.

Coroner Pamela Gray identified the victim as 23-year-old Juan Acevedo DeJesus of Philadelphia.

Officers responded to the intersection of Hokes Mill Road and Old Salem Road in West Manchester Township around 4:45 a.m. for a reported fire.  When authorities arrived at the scene, they discovered the victim’s body was on fire. Emergency crews extinguished the flames. The victim died at the scene.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday at the Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown.  The cause and manner of death will be released following the autopsy results. As of now, authorities are investigating the victim’s death as a possible homicide.
