RED LION, Pa.-- A Felton man is dead after an early morning crash and fire in Red Lion. It happened at about 4:11 a.m. today in the area of 220 Country Club Rd. Officials say Walter Fike, Jr, 50, of 10660 Enfield Rd., Felton, was driving his pickup truck, when for some reason, the truck left the road and crashed into a fence.

Witnesses pulled Fike out of his vehicle, but he was already deceased by the time he was removed from the truck, according to the coroner's report.

Pennsylvania State Police responded to the scene and are investigating. The crash damage was minimal, though the truck cab became fully involved.

There did not appear to be any sliding or braking by Fike prior to the crash. An autopsy to help determine cause and manner of death has been scheduled for 10 a.m. tomorrow at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown.
