MOTORCYCLE CRASH

PROVIDENCE TWP., LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — State police are investigating a major motorcycle crash that happened Saturday evening in Lancaster County.

The crash happened near the 1200 block of Rawlinsville Road in Providence Township, just after 7:30 p.m. Neighbors told police they heard the motorcycle accelerate right before the crash.

State Police say that Michael Taylor, of New Providence, was driving his motorcycle and crossed over the center lines while negotiating a curve.

Taylor’s motorcycle then struck a truck, driven by David Petersheim, and lost control of his motorcycle. Taylor began to tumble down a nearby embankment, while his motorcycle struck a mailbox.

Michael Taylor suffered severe injuries to the right side of his body and is currently in critical condition. Police are unsure if he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Petersheim, the driver of the truck, suffered only minor injuries.
