OXFORD TWP., Pa. – Burglars struck at a motorcycle dealership Sunday, making off with seven motor bikes in a matter of minutes.

The burglary occurred around 4 a.m. Sunday at Pancho’s Suzuki of Hanover on the 1700 block of Carlisle Pike. Police believe the suspect or suspects backed a cargo van into a glass door at the dealership, entered the store and took the motor bikes, which are worth an estimated $60,000. The burglars took three yellow dirt bikes, one black/white dirt bike, one white/red dirt bike, one white scooter and one black scooter.

“Saturday evening we got back pretty late, so we were here at 2 in the morning and left for home, and then got a phone call very early at 4 in the morning and came here,” said Pancho Lawler, the dealership’s owner. “It’s just an utter surprise, to be honest with you. Nothing like this has happened before to us.”

Police responded within four minutes of the alarm at the business going off, according to Ofc. Shawn Cuffley of the Eastern Adams Regional Police Department.

“With the amount of motorcycles that were taken, this was definitely something that had to have been pre-planned,” Cuffley said. “This wasn’t just a spur-of-the-moment thing. They would definitely have to be prepared for what they were about to do when they were in and out.”

The stolen rides do not require license plates or registration, making them harder to track, police said.

“The dirt bikes, particularly the scooters, are easy to get rid of,” Cuffley said. “They can sell them, make a fast buck off of them and they can sell them very easily and there’s no paperwork required.”

Police are still investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact Corporal David Ogle at (717) 624-1614 ext. 205 or by email at dogle@eadamsregionalpd.net.
