Watching for a couple Independence Day storms, otherwise expect warmth and humidity

An isolated shower or thunderstorm is possible during the afternoon. Otherwise, expect a mixture of clouds and sunshine.

An isolated shower or thunderstorm is possible during the afternoon for the 4th of July. Conditions should dry out by the evening.

TOASTY 4th of JULY FORECAST: Independence Day sees a warm and stuffy start, but most of the day is dry for all celebrations. Temperatures begin in the middle 60s to lower 70s. There’s partly cloudy skies and light winds. Although a shower can’t entirely be ruled out, most are dry through the morning. It’s very warm and still a bit humid for the afternoon, but most should end up dry. There’s the chance for a couple isolated showers or thunderstorms during the afternoon, but the chance is south this time around— close to the Mason-Dixon line. By the evening, conditions are dry, so there aren’t any major concerns for fireworks or other festivities. However, an isolated shower or rumble can’t be entirely ruled out. The night partly clear and muggy. Readings fall into the middle 60s to lower 70s. An isolated shower is possible.

Shower and thunderstorm chances increase toward the end of the week.

STILL WARM & HUMID, FEW T-STORMS: Wednesday and Thursday bring more of the same. The humidity feels muggier, and there’s the chance for an isolated shower or thunderstorm each day. They are the hit-or-miss type that not every location sees. Thursday brings a slightly better chance than Wednesday. Temperatures are in the lower to middle 80s Wednesday, and then the lower 80s on Thursday. It’s still quite warm and stuffy for Friday ahead of a potent cold front. There’s the chance for afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures reach the middle to upper 80s.

WEEKEND OUTLOOK: Some cooling takes place into the weekend, and lower humidity levels settle in as well. Saturday brings some clouds to start, but conditions should be dry as sunshine works into the region. Sunday features plenty of sunshine for the area. Temperatures are in the middle 80s Saturday, and then fall into the upper 70s to lower 80s on Sunday. Monday temperatures rebound under plenty of sun. Expect readings in the middle to upper 80s.

Have a great 4th of July!
