Alysa Poindexter is a Producer/Writer for WPMT FOX43 News. The Lancaster County native graduated from Elizabethtown College in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in English, and has been working at FOX43 for the last 3 years.

    COLUMBIA, Pa. – A 73-year old Columbia woman died Sunday, after being hit by a pick-up truck. It happened just after noon, at the intersection of Cherry Street and Lancaster Avenue.  Police say the victim was crossing the street when she was hit by the truck.   • Cumberland County man accused of assaulting a woman

    MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – A Mechanicsburg man is charged with simple assault and harassment after police say he strangled a woman. Upper Allen Police arrested Fathi Abdulwahab, 27, of Mechanicsburg, after responding to a report of an assault Saturday in the 600 block of Cumberland Pointe Circle just before 6:30 a.m. Responding officers found the victim with several injuries indicating she had been assaulted.   • Hundreds evacuated from Lancaster Host Resort after ceiling collapse

    EAST LAMPETER TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The Lancaster Host closed Saturday evening after a water pipe burst in the building causing parts of the ceiling to collapse. It happened around 6:30 p.m. in East Lampeter Township. Authorities say a dance competition was underway at the time of the collapse. About 500 people had to be evacuated. No one was hurt. Authorities expect the damage to be repaired in a few days.
