After spending the past 9 years anchoring local news in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina, I’m ecstatic to be back in my home state of PA!
Why news?
I love the excitement of it and being able to help keep the public informed on important issues that affect all of our lives.
My favorite things:
My family, whom I’m extremely close to. I’m also an avid sports fan and get extremely competitive playing fantasy football. As a former figure skater, I love being on the ice. I am also a photographer who loves musical theater, playing softball, going camping and running. (I ran my first half marathon last year!) However, I’m happiest sitting in my pajamas on the couch watching television.
Something not everyone knows about me:
When I saw my husband for the first time, I was 13 years old. I turned to my girlfriend and said, “I’m going to marry him someday.” He’s a Broadway Actor and the most wonderful person I know.
I’m known around the newsroom for…
Wearing large ridiculous curlers in my hair.
What keeps me going:
Coffee and Yoga
I give back to my community by…
Volunteering as much as possible. I’ve volunteered with Susan G. Komen for 11 years, as well as the American Cancer Society, Komen Young Professionals, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America.
My favorite TV memory:
I had the opportunity to interview Kim Peek, the megasavant whom the movie Rain Man was based on. He couldn’t complete a simple task like shaking your hand, but he could accurately recall the contents of at least 12,000 books. His story had always fascinated me, so meeting him in person was unreal.
TV moment I’d like to forget
The time I fell off a box I was standing on, live on the air. My brother–in-law was kind enough to post it on youtube.
If I had free time, I would…
Volunteer at a Children’s Hospital and learn to cook. (my poor husband!)
