With a quick tongue and witty humor, I, Michael Gorsegner have been delivering the morning news on FOX43 for more than four years, spending better than five years at the station. I consider myself a jack-of-all-trades, reporting, anchoring and even filling in on sports when the need arises. The ability to balance good news judgment with a good sense of humor is probably my greatest strength.
Central Pennsylvania is the closest I have gotten to my native New Jersey since going to college in at American University in Washington, DC so many years ago (I graduated in 2001). My career started behind the camera as an assignment editor for five years in Baltimore and Washington, DC before making the crazy jump. That crazy jump took me from the warm confines of an inside work environment to the sometimes snowy, rainy, windy, cold and hot arenas out in the field. Yes, I am in the fool out in the snow, telling you to stay inside!
With over 7 years of reporting experience, I can’t imagine being anywhere else but out and about. I always say, if the worst part about my day is the time I wake up (which is 2:27 a.m.), then I am doing OK.
One thing you will notice about my personality, what you see is what you get. I strive to be the same person on the air as I am in person. I love to joke around and have a good time but I also take my job and my responsibility as a journalist very seriously.
My family is so important to me and the reason I wake up so early. I am blessed to have a loving wife, Jamie and three wonderful children, Kaylee (7), Avery (4) and Sebastian (1). I remember sleeping once, about eight years ago but then again, I wouldn’t trade my life for the world.
I enjoy my job and I love when people watch and learn, so make sure you join me from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. Monday thru Friday.
