Enter the Three Degree Guarantee
Every night, if the forecasted high is within the three degree range, the FOX43 Weather Team will add $5 to the jackpot. And if the forecast is exactly right, we add in $43! The jackpot will grow and grow until we randomly pull a winner (four winners per year, with names drawn approximately at the end of February, May, July, and November). They all seem to come and go. The Weather people are the highest paid employees on the local newscasts. I believe that eventually, they become too expensive to keep. If their on-screen personas are exceptional, they probably move on. It seems rare to have one like Chuck Rhodes who sticks around for his whole career.
