Route 441 Fatal Accident in Lancaster County

The Lancaster County coroner has identified the two people who were killed in a head-on collision in East Donegal Township as Darlene R. Crick, 45, of Bainbridge and Frederick M. Janiec, 55, of Bainbridge.

The crash happened around 4:45 p.m. on Monday along the 1400 block of River Road (Rt. 441) . Police say one vehicle was headed south on River Road when it crossed into the northbound lane and hit the other car head-on.

Both Crick and Janiec were pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.

 

Susquehanna Regional Police say the two people died in the head-on collision Monday afternoon in the 1400 block of River Road, Route 441 in East Donegal Township. Both victims, a man and a women were behind the wheel of their respective cars. They both lived in Conoy Township. The names of the victims were withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Police say one car traveling south on River Road crossed into the north bound lane and struck the other car head-on.  At the time of the crash, around 4:45 pm, the roadway was wet.  The investigation into the crash continues.

Emergency crews at the scene of a fatal head-on crash in Lancaster County.  It happened just before 5 o’clock this evening at the intersection of River Road, Route 441 and Maytown Road, Route 743 in East Donegal Township.  County Control confirms that two people were killed in the collision. That portion of River Road is closed to traffic as the investigation into the crash continues
