Develop, coordinate & organize local & network news coverage into a visual and fast paced daily newscast. This includes formatting newscasts, scripting stories, reviewing and approving reporter scripts, coordinating live coverage in addition to other duties.

Four year degree in Broadcast Journalism or equivalent. Two years experience producing newscasts. Exhibit strong broadcast writing and production skills. Exhibit sound news judgment and organizational skills. Strong aptitude for making decisions in a fast paced and high pressure environment. Exhibit strong leadership skills in directing individuals in achieving operational and philosophical goals of the news department.

Overall purpose of this position is to plan and execute the field coverage of local events for the weekend newscasts. This  position also acts as a desk assistant for the assignment editor during the week. The individual may be occasionally called upon to fill in for the weekday or weeknight assignment editor.

Education : B/A Degree in Mass Communications, Broadcast Journalism or equivalent experience.
Knowledge and understanding of television news operations and the dynamics of the assignment desk. Individual needs to exhibit strong organizational skills and have the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.

Position is responsible for crewing evening and morning newscasts in the following areas; Camera Operator, Floor Director, Teleprompter Operator or Audio. Personnel will rotate from area to area as needed, or other assignments as needed.

A/A Degree in television or communications area. Knowledge of television studio operations, experience  on one or all of the following: a) studio camera, b) teleprompter, c) audio, floor directing. At least 6 months in a television studio environment or equivalent college courses.

Quality creative photography and editing of local news stories, while working well as a team with reporters to develop the best possible story.

Experience shooting and editing for broadcast TV news.  Ability to stay organized in a fast paced environment.  Flexibility of work schedule as news events require.

The multi-media journalist needs to do it all; report, shoot, edit and push content online. This position will normally work by themsleves to gather content for packages and other stories for both on-air and online.

Minimum one year reporting experience required. Must have excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, must take initiative and possess great news judgement. Ability to write accurately under pressure in a contemporary, compelling and conversational style using a blackberry, laptop or cell phone text messaging system. Should be well versed and have hands on experience with social media sites and networks like Facebook and Twitter. Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication or related field is a must.
