The 15-year-old juvenile female that reported she was assaulted, on April 9th, 2013 in Manchester, PA, is now saying that she lied.

A Northeastern Regional Police detective has been working hard on this case coming up with suspects, and has shown the “victim” several photo line ups with no suspects positively identified. This week the detective met the victim at the crime scene where she confessed that she had lied about the incident and that it did not happen.

She advised that she lied about the incident because she was walking home with a male friend, and they were flirting, and she was afraid they would get in trouble. At this time the Northeastern Regional Police is closing the case since there are no real suspects, and no danger to the public. The York County District Attorney’s Office has advised the police department not to file charges for False Reports in this case.

On Tuesday April 9, 2013 at approximately 3 PM, a 15-year-old female was walking home from school in the 100 block of Maple Street in Manchester Borough, when she was confronted by four white males, near the rear of the Rutter’s Farm Store. The male suspects started to call the juvenile derogatory names and then approached the female. “Two of the males grabbed her by her arms and they pulled down her shirt and started to touch her,” said Northeastern Regional Police chief Bryan Rizzo. Luckily, the girl fought back. “She stomped on one of their feet, and another one she kicked between their legs, they let her go, and she decided to run home,” said Rizzo. The male suspects ran away, down South Main Street in Manchester Borough.

Police have good descriptions and are confident they will catch the suspects. They are described as:

  1. White male, 5’10”, wearing a yellow t-shirt, tan pants, blue-gray and black sneakers, brown hair and brown goatee.
  2. White male, 5″7″, wearing a Metallica t-shirt, kaki pants, green sneakers, brown eyes, brown hair, and brown goatee.
  3. White male, 6’0″, wearing on orange and white button down shirt, blue jeans, black shoes, brown hair and patch of hair on his chin.
  4. White male, 6’0″, wearing a Disturbed t-shirt, blue jeans, blue and gray sneakers, greenish blue eyes, brown hair and a mustache.

Suspects are described as being in their late teens to early twenties.

Police have increased their patrols in the area and they are asking the public to be vigilant. “Walk with someone else. Stay in a public area. I don’t recommend walking behind alleys, wooded areas, anywhere they would be walking alone in a secluded area,” said Rizzo.

Northeastern School District has also released a safety alert for all students in the area. You can find that here.
