A man is arrested after attacking his girlfriend and attempting to cause a wreck with an 8-month old child in the vehicle.  Police were called to the 3400 block of Walnut Street in Susquehanna Township on Friday for a report of a domestic assault.

The victim told police that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend, Solomon Nyarko, while she was driving. Nyarko is accused of grabbing the victim by the hair and beating her, police said.

At one point, Nyarko threatened to kill the victim and then grabbed the steering wheel and attempted to wreck the car, police said. Officers located Nyarko in Penbrook Borough where he led them on a brief foot chase.

He was taken into custody and transported to Dauphin County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Nyarko is facing numerous charges including simple assault, reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child.
