Enola man arrested in rape of 12-year-old girl

A 26-year-old Enola man has been arrested and charged with raping a child, according to Lower Paxton Township police.

Joshua Markelwitz is facing numerous charges including rape of a child, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse with a child, aggravated indecent assault, indecent exposure, corruption of minors and disseminating photo/film of child sex acts.

Authorities learned about the allegations against Markelwitz when the victim, who is now 15, came forward, police said.

The victim was 12 years-old when Markelwitz began having sexual contact with her, police said.

The alleged incidents occurred at the victim’s home, at a township church where Markelwitz was involved in youth programs and inside his car, according to police reports.

Markelwitz was taken to Dauphin County Prison in lieu $750,000 bail.
