Rt. 283 reopens after deadly crash

Police have reopened a  portion of Route 283 in Lancaster County after it was shut down early Tuesday morning due to a deadly crash. It happened shortly after 2 a.m. in the westbound lane of Rt. 283 just west of Strickler Road in Rapho Township.

Investigators say two people were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. No word yet on the victim’s identity.

The other occupant was taken to Hershey Medical Center.
