A man demanded cash from a gas station clerk who refused to cooperate last night. It happened around 10:30pm at Hake’s Store, 898 East Canal Road. The bandit, described as a white male, about 5’8, knocked on the locked door of the cashier’s booth and showed the clerk a pointed object. The clerk refused and called 9-1-1. The suspect ran into the surrounding fields south of the gas station.
The cashier refused and called 911. The male fled the area on foot and ran southbound into the fields.
