A new feature designed to put families in the holiday spirit will open Friday at Hershey Gardens. After months of planning, the gardens have been transformed into “Santa’s Secret Garden,” complete with lights, crafts and Santa himself.

“Santa Claus will be here, and he will be handing out the reminder of the spirit of Christmas that kids can remember all year round why we come together at Christmas,” said Barbara Whitcraft, horticulture specialist at Hershey Gardens.

Among the changes for the holiday season, the butterfly house has been transformed into “Santa’s Greenhouse” to showcase winter plants. Kids will have a chance to put together arts and crafts as well as pick up some candy during their tour. Mrs. Claus is also on hand to tell stories.

The gardens will be open to the public this Friday and Saturday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. They’ll open again next Friday and Saturday at the same times. Kids three-years-old and under are admitted free. For everyone else, the price of admission is between $7 to $10. For more information click here.
