Irving, TX – Dallas Cowboys linebacker Josh Brent was released from jail Sunday night, after he was arrested for a car crash that killed teammate Jerry Brown, Jr.

Police say Brent’s Mercedes was travelling at a high rate of speed early Saturday when it struck a curb, flipped, and caught fire. Brent was arrested on suspicion of intoxication manslaughter. His attorney says it’s time to focus on Brown’s family, who is struggling with the loss.

“I (have to) take care of my client,” George Milner said Sunday, “and we (have to) take care of Jerry Brown’s family, do whatever we can to make amends as best we can. It’s just a difficult deal, you obviously can’t bring someone back.”

Brown, 25, was an outside linebacker on the Dallas practice squad.
