The National Hanukkah Menorah was lit Sunday during a special ceremony in the nation’s capital. Sunday marked the first day and second night of Hanukkah. Thousands of people attended the lighting ceremony, which took place on the ellipse. Jeffrey Zients, acting director of the Office of Management and Budget and a member of the president’s cabinet, served as the event’s special guest.
