This year’s presidential race was the most expensive in U.S. history.

Mitt Romney’s camp raked in close to $85 million in the final three weeks of his campaign. Of all the money collected this year, the GOP wrapped up just $3 million leftover.

The Democraic National Committee ended the season in the red, but no word on just how much money President Obama’s campaign hauled in.
