It may be the play that best symbolizes the Eagles 2012 season.    In the first half of Thursday Night’s 34-13 loss to the Bengals, Punter Matt McBriar unleashes a kick that goes directly into the side of his own teammate Marvin McNutt.    The “blocked punt” gives Cincinnati the ball at the Eagles 10.   Philadelphia turns it over five times and loses control of the game in the second half.    The Eagles fall to 4-10 on the season.   Their final home game is on Sunday, December 23rd against Washington before closing the year out on the road at the New York Giants.

Cincinnati improves to 8-6 and now leads Pittsburgh by a half-game in the AFC North.   Baltimore still leads the division with a 9-4 record.   The Bengals finish their year at Pittsburgh on Sunday, December 23rd before hosting the Ravens on Sunday, December 30th.
