Man Struck & Killed by Freight Train

A Lancaster County man is dead after he is hit by a freight train Tuesday evening.  It happened just before 5 o’clock along Bank Avenue on the tracks behind the fire station.  The County Coroner says the man, in his mid-20’s, was dead upon arrival at Lancaster General Hospital. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday to determine the exact cause of death.
