Many folks ask for material items at Christmas, but for one local family, it was a person that santa delivered just in time for the holidays.  20 year old Private Jordan Rhoads left home 6 months ago for a tour in Afghanistan.   He performed various operations daily, as well as being a dog handler.  He got the idea several weeks ago to surprise his family members, and it worked.  His mom, Elaine, who is a life skills para professional at West Perry Middle School, never saw it coming.  “We knew he was gonna hopefully be home for christmas,  but no being able to tell us exactly when…”, she said.   Jordan says even though they were worried about him, he was more worried about them.  Private Rhoads is looking forward to being home and planning a wedding date with his Fiance.

There,s something rather intriquing concerning Pvt. Rhodes dress blue Marine Corps uniform. How can a person with his limited amount of time in service rate so many ribbons [military awards displayed on uniform] ? I recall a lot of guys buying ribbons that they did,nt rate at the base store. It is a courts martial offense to wear awards not earned. I hope this marine earned the awards he,s wearing. Ron Chapel twice honorably dischared USMC.
