Starting December 27th through the 28th and 29th Zoo America will host its Wild Treat events. Visitors can see 9 different species receive a holiday treat, which ranges from decorated trees to wreaths made of ice. Species featured include: Sugar, the albino alligator; river otters; and timberwolves.
“It’s fun to watch,” said Dale Snyder, General Curator, Zoo America. “The animals get to do some activities and it’s part of our enrichment program and that’s a program where we do activities to try to keep our animals engaged and active.”
Sugar’s last day at the zoo is December 31st. If you pay her a visit, you can enter a contest to win tickets to Hershey Park, a family membership to Zoo America, and a year’s worth of chocolate. There is also a legend if you look a white alligator in the eye, you’ll have good luck!
