GIANT Food Stores has completed major remodels of its stores located at 44 Natural Springs Road in Gettysburg and 2130 Palomino Road in Dover. The stores underwent six-month remodels to provide customers with an expanded product selection and features for a more convenient shopping experience. In Gettysburg, one of those features, a Beer Garden and Eatery, opened in August.

“Gettysburg and Dover shoppers will find a wider variety of fresh products – all at affordable prices,” said Steve Angle, district director. “We look forward to featuring new customer amenities that provide solutions to our customers’ everyday shopping needs.”
Gettysburg and Dover customers will find key departments such as produce, deli, meat, and bakery have been freshened with new décor and fixtures along with an increased variety of product. Other departments such as dairy and frozen foods have been expanded. Gettysburg customers will also find expansive seasonal and Hallmark selections.

The award-winning Shopping Solutions kiosks have been added to both stores, allowing customers to use the interactive touch-screen to check personalized BonusCard savings offers, print off coupons, locate an item in the store, and place a deli or Great Entertaining party tray order. Customers also have more than 2,500 tasty recipes at their fingertips that can be printed directly from the Shopping Solutions kiosks.

With an eye on energy conservation, LED lighting was newly installed in many areas of the stores, including overhead track lights, spotlights on specialty areas & displays, exterior store signs and in the frozen food cases. LED lights are longer-lasting and are expected to reduce wattage by half.

In Gettysburg, the aforementioned Beer Garden and Eatery offers an excellent selection of domestic and imports with an emphasis on craft and specialty beers. Customers will find a “mix-a-six” option where they can create their own six packs with a variety of craft beers. With Wifi capability and seating for thirty-two, Gettysburg customers are offered a wide variety of eat-in and take-out selections.
The Gettysburg GIANT was built in 1998, and the Dover location has been in existence since 2001. Both stores are open twenty-four hours daily.
