Student Surprised with Full College Scholarship

It was a great day for one York County teen who literally received financial freedom from ever having to pay a single college loan.
Alexander Pawlikowski, a senior at York Catholic high school, was awarded a giant check for more than $160,000 which was presented to him by Saint Vincent College during class Wednesday, much to his surprise.
Pawlikowsi won the school’s Wimmer Scholarship Award after placing first on a written exam that more than 200 hundred high school students took part in.
The 18-year-old says he was so overcome with emotion when he got the phone call that he won, saying, “my jaw just dropped and my mom offered me a pen and paper so I could write down what it was cause I couldn’t speak, so I wrote down ‘I placed first on the test’ and she just screamed”.
He added that she then went out onto the porch and screamed some more.
Pawlikowski is planning to major in pre-medicine in hopes of becoming a neurologist when he heads to school in the fall.
