A Harrisburg man is recovering from multiple gunshot wounds he received as he fled a robber Wednesday evening. It happened around 6:20 pm on the 1500 block of Derry Street. The victim, a 30 year-old Harrisburg resident, had just left a friend’s house and was walking on Derry. As he turned onto 15th Street, he was attacked from behind by a robber demanding the victim’s wallet. The victim said he didn’t have anything and broke free from the robber, only to be shot; twice in the arm, twice in the back, and twice in the leg. He ran into a deli on the 1400 block of Vernon Street and asked for help. He was taken to Hershey Medical Center and police say he is lucky none of the bullets hit any vital organs. He is expected to recover soon.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 25 years old, about 6 feet tall, of a thin build, light complexion and was wearing a white jacket and black hat.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Schriver at 717-255-3183 or Lt Fegan at 717-255-3114.
