A desperate struggle for a gun during an attempted armed robbery in York City.  It happened just before 5:30 Thursday evening at Young’s Food Market in the 300 block of East King Street.  A man armed with a handgun walked into the store and demanded money.  The suspect then attempted to hit one of the clerks with the weapon. That’s when the clerk grabbed the gun and began wrestling with the suspect.   According to York City Police during the struggle the suspect pulled the trigger and a shot was fired between the victim’s legs.

The victim was able to wrestle the suspect to the floor and take away his gun. The suspect jumped up and was running out the door when another person in the store grabbed at him. The second man was dragged for a short distance.

A second suspect had been outside the store, saw what was happening, and he too ran away.  Both suspects were last seen running north on Pine Street.
